Britain's Got Talent's Ashleigh Butler has broken down in tears on TV over Pudsey's passing.
Ashleigh and dog Pudsey won Britain's Got Talent back in 2012 but sadly Ashleigh took to Instagram last week to reveal that Pudsey had tragically died after being put to sleep.
Ashleigh said: “After Pudsey’s short battle against leukaemia, I had to make the hardest decision of my life to let my beautiful boy go to sleep.
“From the minute he was born he brought nothing but joy to me and, as a winner of BGT, millions of others who adored him too.“No words can express just how much I will miss him.”
Appearing on ITV's This Morning today, Ashleigh spoke about how Pudsey's health had taken a sudden and tragic turn in just a matter of says.
"I was actually at a dogs' show with with him last weekend, then on the Monday he just wasn't himself," she recalled.
In tears, Ashleigh explained: "He was sleeping a lot so we took him to the vet on Tuesday. From Tuesday to Thursday, he went downhill so quickly.
"The vet told us he had acute leukaemia, then on the Thursday, it got to the point where he couldn't lift his head.
"It was so sad anyway but because it was so quick... It still hasn't sunk in."
Ashleigh went on to clear up claims that she was replacing Pudsey with new dog Sully.
She said: "No, Sully is Sully. I can't and won't change him. There was always going to be a point where Sully took over from Pudsey, just so that Pudsey could enjoy retirement.
"But I didn't expect it to happen like this.
"I think carrying on what Pudsey started will help me. He gave me opportunities that I never thought I would ever have."
Ashleigh is due to perform with Sully in Jack and the Beanstalk this Christmas at the High Wycombe Swan Theatre.
