In this evening's show, Gabby got a text: “Islanders, it’s the moment of truth. Girls, you’ll be taking a lie detector test. Boys you will be asking the questions. #hometruths #truthhurts #polygrafting”
The girls were worried about the impending Lie Detector test while the boys prepared their questions in the garden for their partners.
Last up was Gabby with questions from Marcel Somerville including – Are you with Marcel because he is in The Blazin’ Squad? Can you see a long term future with Marcel? Do you genuinely love Marcel?
According to the machine, Gabby was telling the truth when she said she wasn't with Marcel because of his Blazin Squad connection and she saw a long term future with Marcel.
However, in a shock twist, Gabby admitted in the last question she didn't genuinely love Marcel, which the lie detector said was the truth.
"This obviously throws a spanner in the works," Gabby remarked.
Following the task, Olivia later overheard Sam telling Chris that he thought Gabby is “fake.”
Olivia stuck up for Gabby, suggesting that Sam had just returned to the villa and was in a fresh new relationship of a few days so shouldn’t be judging a couple who have been together for over a month.
Regardless of what Sam thought, Gabby hatched a plan to win back Marcel.
She got the girls involved in her idea, asking if they’d help her spell out "I Love You" to Marcel. She then took Marcel to the terrace for a chat where she insisted her feelings for him were genuine.
While Marcel brushed off the results of the lie detector and made up with Gabby, viewers weren't convinced by her actions.
"Who plans the day & time they're gonna say I love you? It happens naturally unless you're fraud like Gabby #loveisland" one fan posted to TWitter.
