Dancing On Ice bosses have reportedly auditioned around 50 potential celebrity contestants.

Dancing On Ice originally ran between 2006 and 2014, hosted by Philip Schofield, Holly Willoughby and later Christine Bleakley.

Rumour has it a tenth series could be on its way and although a return isn't official yet, stars are already getting involved.

The Sun newspaper reports that show bosses are trialling up to 50 celebrities to see if they'd make for a good series.

A source told the tabloid: “There’s no point in hiring famous faces for them to end up totally unable to skate.”

One of the recently rumoured names is Coronation Street actress Katie McGlynn, who plays Sinead Tinker on the ITV soap.

A source said: “Katie loves the idea of trying something new so Dancing On Ice is a perfect opportunity.

“She’s well-liked, popular with viewers and exactly the sort of person they’ve been looking for.”

Other rumoured names over the past few weeks include X Factor's Honey G, who has supposedly been offered £50,000 to sign up.

"Honey G was TV gold on last year’s X Factor so it’s a no-brainer to sign her up for Dancing On Ice," a source explained. “She is a huge fan favourite and is loved by the whole family, no matter what their age."

More potential names are Katie Price, soap actress Brooke Vincent, model Nicola McLean, 'WAG' Coleen Rooney and singer Michelle Heaton.

"Dancing On Ice would be my ultimate," former Liberty X star Michelle told The Sun earlier this year.. "As a performer you want to do something that you can learn fresh so you build up your CV...

"It is one of those shows that I would love to tick off my bucket list. It would be really wonderful to learn how to do something like that."

Also rumoured are footballers Jamie O’Hara and Steven Gerrard.

But again, ITV is still to officially confirm Dancing On Ice's return to TV.
