Big Brother 2017: Simone Reed's mum accuses show of 'unfair editing'

Simone Reed's mum has accused Big Brother bosses of 'unfairly editing' her daughter.

Simone joined the house at the start of the month, halfway through the series as part of a new twist.

The second chance housemate can't win the show but is playing for £15,000 of this year's prize fund.

Since entering the house, Simone has caused quite the controversy but her mum says it's not her fault.

“I think they are editing it to make her come across worse then she is,” Simone's mum Shelly told the GazetteLive. “What’s being shown on the telly, there is more to her than that.

“I was a bit annoyed at first as I though Channelle and Isabelle (Warburton) were turning on her but I’m proud of the way she’s standing up for herself.

“But she’s not the sort of person to just jump in to a row, she sits back and observes.”

Shelly also defended Simone after the mum-of-three came under attack from trolls on social media.

“People are slating her on Facebook, saying she’s a bad mum but she isn’t,” her mum explained. “She’s basically a one parent family, who does her best for the children.

“When she gets out of the house, whatever she does from there will always be done with her kids coming first.”

Simone currently faces this week's double eviction alongside Chanelle.

Two housemates will be given the boot in Friday night's live show from 10PM with host Emma Willis.

For now, Big Brother continues nightly on Channel 5.
