Gabby Allen, Marcel Somerville love island

Love Island 2017's Gabby Allen and Marcel Somerville are now official after tonight's show.

In this evening's episode, Marcel got a text which read: "Islanders, tonight there will be a recoupling in which the boys will pick the girls they want to couple up with. #MakeItCount #SeizeTheDay"

The news sent shock waves through the villa before the Islanders gathered around the firepit with the girls standing the guys sitting.

Marcel picked Gabby, asking her to be his official girlfriend in the process.

Alongside Gabby and Marcel, the couples were: Chris and Olivia, Simon and Tyla, Jonny and Camilla, Kem and Amber and Dom and Montana.

Gabby and Marcel are currently the favourites of the couples to win Love Island according to bookies Betway.

The former Blazin’ Squad member is proving a big hit with punters and is clear in the betting to form the show’s winning couple. Essex boy Jonny is next in the betting at 13/8, way ahead of fellow islanders Chris and Kem at 8/1 and 10/1 respectively.

However Marcel’s current partner Gabby is not as strong a favourite on the girls’ side with Camilla standing a good chance of snatching victory from Gabby and the other girls at 6/4, while Montana is a distant third in the betting at 9/1.

Betway’s Alan Alger, said: “Love Island is certainly warming up and we’ve experienced a huge wave of interest on the betting front. All the money over the weekend was been for Marcel to be top boy and we’ve had to cut his odds dramatically.

“Marcel is the only competitor that is now currently odds-on the be in the winning couple at 4/5, whilst his current lover, Gabby, is a slightly weaker 6/5 to be the top female.

Following the recoupling tonight, a public vote has since opened for viewers to pick their favourites of the couples.

The couples with the fewest votes risk being dumped from the island with the results revealed in tomorrow (Wednesday) night's show.
