Love Island 2017's Jessica Shears and Mike Thalassitis have spoken out about THOSE rumours.

The Sun newspaper has alleged that Jess and Mike enjoyed the night together at their hotel after leaving the villa in last Wednesday evening's show.

While Mike left the villa single after his failed coupling with Olivia Attwood, Jess' relationship with Dominic Lever seemed much more official.

However a source spilled: “Jess and Mike fancied the pants off each other from the minute they met – last night was the perfect opportunity to enjoy time together in private off-camera and they didn’t waste a moment.”

But is it true or just tabloid gossip?

Appearing on Love Island spin-off After Sun, Mike insisted the pair were just friends.

He told host Caroline Flack: "We got back to a villa, and we were chaperoned, we were never alone."

"We didn't have a drink, well, we had one drink, but we didn't get drunk," he continued, "We had separate rooms.

"I didn't go to her room, but I thought about it."

Mike added: "We've spoken, because she's the only one who knows what I've been through. I wouldn't say I fancy her, she's definitely my type but we're just friends."

Jess also appeared and similarly denied anything between them happened.

"We were together for a day, staying in the same villa but in separate rooms, and we both had to do press and things," she said. "Absolutely nothing happened, and it's laughable, because he's being an angel.

"I've messaged him because I've been crying about it, and what's silly now is we can't go out as a group because everyone's going to talk more."

Dom found out about the rumours in the villa tonight thanks to a Skype call from Gabby's mum after a task.

He stormed out of the villa in tears, comforted by Marcel on the steps to the front door.

Love Island 2017 continues nightly on ITV2 at 9PM.
