Love Island 2017: Kem Cetinay threatens to quit after row with Amber Davies

It could all be over for Love Island 2017 couple Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies.

The pair have been together since the launch but it seems as though four weeks in their relationship has lost its spark.

As Amber broke down in tears chatting to Montana, she revealed: “I’m just panicking that it’s going to go wrong. And that’s the last thing I want, but it is going wrong. I really do like him. I couldn’t imagine being here without him. But I don’t know how it will work.”

Later, Kem and Amber came together to discuss their troubles face-to-face. Kem began: “The last few days I have felt quite unhappy. I don’t want you to take this the wrong way but I just feel like I’m constantly treading on eggshells. You don’t understand when I say to you and I mean something, I mean it.

"I feel like the last few days, you have been turning on me a lot. You don’t realise it but you have. Everything just seems to turn on me and I just sit back and I let it happen because I’d rather you feel happy and then I just take it and deal with it later.”

Amber retorted, as she began to conclude that perhaps she and Kem were no longer the right match for one another: “I just don’t think that I’m right for you at all. No I don’t think I am. And if I’m making you unhappy there’s no point. I don’t know whether you’ve ever fallen for someone before but it’s a scary thing, and I’ve been very hurt in the past.

"Why I’m upset is because I feel like I can’t do anything right. I can’t sit here and say that I haven’t tried my hardest and I just don’t know whether I’m just going to make you happy in here. I don’t want to have to change to keep you. Everyday I think ‘what does he think now?’ I don’t know whether it’s just best to…I don’t know.”

After an evening apart, during which Kem opted to sleep on the sofa, Amber relayed the state of play in the Beach Hut the following morning: “We stayed in separate places. I was in the bed and he was on the sofa, which was his own choice to do. Today we haven’t really spoken. I’m a little bit speechless about the whole thing really.”

Kem and Amber’s problems were complicated further by both Tyla and Simon, as both sought guidance from the new arrivals on where their relationship was going wrong.

But when Kem spotted Amber and Simon talking, he raged: “This is ridiculous. So muggy. Do you think that’s muggy on her behalf? I might go and talk to Tyla. I can’t sit here and watch this. Out of everyone to talk to about me, why would she talk to him?

"It’s like me talking about Amber to Tyla, confiding in Tyla. If I’m not in here with her, I can’t be here, I’ll just go. I can’t. Imagine if you split up with Jess in here, could you sit in here and watch her date other guys? I hate this, why didn’t I just stay coupled up with Chloe?

Kem then confronted Amber, accusing her of playing a game which left her riled: “I am not playing a game with you. I don’t know what else I can do. I am telling you I would not want to be in here playing a game with anyone. I’m here to actually find someone.

"I don’t want you to throw that around because I think that’s completely unfair on me. I’m putting my foot down with that because I am not playing a game with you. I wouldn’t entertain it if I was.”

The argument then began to escalate leaving things between the couple at breaking point.

Love Island 2017 airs tonight at 9PM on ITV2.
