Over 2 million viewers tuned in to the return of The Crystal Maze on Channel 4 last night.
The revived series opened with 2.3 million viewers for a celebrity special, fronted by new host Richard Ayoade.
The show was easily the biggest rating of the night for the channel, although a little down on the 3 million that tuned in to last year's one-off charity special with Stephen Merchant.
The series returns next Friday night with a second celebrity special featuring Scarlett Moffatt, Steve Jones, David Coulthard, Jodie Kid and Joey Essex.
In the 9PM hour, The Crystal Maze faced an extended Love Island on ITV2 which continued putting in strong numbers as 1.4 million tuned in to the latest episode.
Big Brother's numbers on the other hand continued below 1 million, dropping to a joint series low following Thursday's surprise eviction of just 800,000 viewers after being shunted to 10:30PM.
The Paul O'Grady Story, which aired in Big Brother's usual Friday night slot, averaged over 1.5 million viewers while 800,000 watched a repeat of last Saturday's Blind Date.
In the latest soap ratings, Coronation Street came out on top with 6.6 million and 6.3 million viewers for its two episodes respectively. Emmerdale had 5.4 million viewers on Friday night while EastEnders - which today was revealed to be losing its executive producer - was below 5 million with 4.9 million viewers.
