Jonny Mitchell and Camilla Thurlow's romance could be back on in Love Island 2017.
The pair are officially coupled up but the spark between them hasn't been as bright since a row last week.
Their day in the villa began yesterdaywith both Jonny and Camilla freshly energised after the public vote had put them both in the top four favourite couples, much to their surprise. The events had led Jonny to question whether it was worth giving his relationship with Camilla a second chance.
Love Island was about to provide Jonny with the perfect opportunity to get closer to Camilla when a text arrived that had all of the islanders bursting with excitement: “Camilla and Jonny, you are going on a date. Please get ready and leave the villa immediately. #downtoatea #creamtease”
The islanders were ecstatic about a potential rekindling for Jonny and Camilla, with Gabby proclaiming: “Everyone absolutely loves Camilla. She’s such a sweetheart, so classy and Jonny is an absolute goofball. Handsome but just hilarious with his one-liners. As the time goes on, everyone loves them more and more so to see them come back together would be a dream come true.”
Nerves however quickly took hold of Camilla, who admitted: “I am looking forward to the date. I’m very nervous. I find dates quite stressful.”
Jonny meanwhile sought out Marcel and Gabby for advice on how to approach Camilla, and whether to progress things: “I don’t know how to approach it. I feel like if I say something and she’s just not on the same page…”
When the pair arrived at their afternoon tea setting, Camilla seemed determined to move things forward with Jonny as she steered the conversation in a suggestive direction while the pair discussed their shock at last night’s vote.
“Even though we’ve had a little bit of drama here and there the last few days I thought there hasn’t been a great deal. And I thought ‘that’s not going to work well," Jonny says.
Camilla asks “What you mean, because we’re just friends?”
Jonny replies “Well you never know do you?”
Camilla asks “Do you never know?”
Jonny concludes “I don’t know.”
Opening up as the pair became more relaxed together, Camilla then confessed to feeling a little jealous of Jonny’s closeness to Tyne-Lexy: “I obviously took a massive step back because I want you to have an amazing experience and wouldn’t want to ever stand in anyone’s way but it obviously wasn’t pleasant to see you with Tyne all the time.
"It wasn’t nice to watch. You can take from that what you will.”
Jonny however set Camilla’s mind at rest by reassuring her: “What you’ve got to appreciate is that you’re stepping back so I can enjoy my experience but the fact that I picked you at the last coupling shows that you are such a massive part of my experience. Probably the biggest. I don’t want YOU to feel like you have to give me space now though.”
As things continued to progress, Camilla posed the important question: “Do you mean you want to spend more time with me?”
Unhesitant, Jonny replied: “Yeah, don’t you?”
A self assured Camilla then retorted: “Yes I do.”
Upon their return to the villa, Camilla was feeling positive on the outcome of the afternoon: “I think the date went well. I am kind of hoping that maybe it’s a bit of a second chance.”
Jonny was equally as optimistic, accepting that they would have to move at Camilla’s pace: “Back on track. Very happy going at a slow pace and I’m very realistic with my expectations of it. Don’t get me wrong, I would like to throw her on the bed, I’m not sure how it would go down though.”
Love Island 2017 airs tonight at 9PM on ITV2.
