Sam Gowland and Montana Brown sit down for another chat on Love Island 2017 tonight.

With Montana spending another night apart from Sam by sleeping in the garden, his interest was beginning to dwindle, and before the day was out, Montana had finally come clean about her true feelings.

Having spent the night alone, Sam told Jessica: “I think now I’ve slept, when a new girl comes in, options are open now.”

Jessica responded frankly: “I feel like she’s mugged you off.”

Sam elaborated on his feelings during a chat in the Beach Hut: “She’s a nice girl Montana but I think she’s just…I can’t put my finger on it. She slept outside again last night with Chloe. I don’t really know what she’s doing.

I don’t have time to be messing about trying to play games. I’m going to keep playing it by ear because she’s sound and that but I’m not putting all my eggs into one basket this time. It’s a big mistake if you do that.”

Irked by Jessica’s input into things, Montana was determined to draw a line under she and Sam’s relationship herself, telling the Beach Hut: “It’s me that needs to speak to Sam and he needs to hear it from me. It doesn’t need to come from anyone else and I think everyone else knows that but Jess sticking her nose in and having a DMC with Sam just isn’t very helpful.”

In a case of déjà vu for them both, that afternoon they chatted once again in the garden where Montana confessed: “I just feel like there’s nothing about you that I don’t like and to be honest I really wanted it to work.

"And I was like ‘I could really like this guy’ because there’s actually nothing that I dislike about you in every way, I find you attractive but I just feel like there’s something missing and it’s been really frustrating me because I can’t put my finger on it.”

Surprisingly to Montana though, Sam declared he felt the same way: "I was saying the exact same thing, when I was talking earlier I just said it started off good and it sounds horrible but I’m not putting my eggs in a single basket just in case. Personally for me, I do see it as mates.

"As mates we just keep coupling up until someone right for me or you comes in. That’s the best way to go about it isn’t it.”

Montana however was unconvinced by Sam’s carefree attitude, telling Jonny: “He was a bit like ‘yeah I was thinking that anyway, I knew we were just friends.’ I was like ‘um, OK.’ But whatever. Let him deal with it however.”

Love Island 2017 airs tonight at 9PM on ITV2.
