Love Island 2017 contestant Amber Davies turned down a job on the West End to take part in the show, it's been revealed.
20-year-old dancer Amber from Wales had apparently been offered a part in the London production of Hairspray, her parents have revealed.
“She wasn’t going to do Love Island," dad Hefin told The Sun newspaper. “She’d made her decision and had been offered a contract on the West End with Hairspray. She really had to think hard about it.
“But she loves reality TV. We all watched the final of Love Island last year together and she joked ‘I’m going to apply for that next year’.
“We all laughed along but here she is. It’s been the biggest decision of her life."
Mum Susan went on: “When she initially turned down Love Island, the producers called her back, desperate for her to come on the show. I think deep down it was what she really wanted.”
And on Amber having sex in front of 2 million viewers on the ITV2 series, her mum insisted: “I’m cool with it. She’s an adult at the end of the day and we don’t have to watch it.
“OK no-one wants to see their children up to that sort of thing but let’s face it, it happens.”
Love Island 2017 continues nightly on ITV2 at 9PM.
