Blazin' Squad's Marcel Somerville may have finally found his match on Love Island.
The musician has yet to really click with any of the female Islanders, but new girl Gabby Allen could change all that.
Yesterday in the villa, a flirtation between the pair was definitely developing.
Chatting to the boys, Marcel admitted that Gabby was definitely ticking the right boxes: “I think if you’re going to go for a bird, looks play a part but in here you need someone who’s got a bit of character about them. She’s like me because she’s quite chilled but at the same time she’s got a lot of chat.”
His current partner Montana gave Marcel her blessing to make a move.
“I love him to pieces obviously, not romantically. I think he’s quite interested in Gabby," he said, "’m really happy for him, I actually am. I don’t have a bad word to say about her. He deserves to find someone, and I genuinely think she might be that person.
"I’m not going to say to Marcel ‘you need to pick me’, it completely breaks the deal that we had if someone comes in and he likes them. That’s the risk that you take partnering up with someone who’s a friend.”
During a one-on-one with Gabby, Marcel made it clear that he was considering partnering with her at the next re-coupling: “In here the people that I’m closest to are Camilla, Chloe and Montana.
"Camilla making the decision to keep Jonny and let Harley go, that obviously was a really tough decision for her. That’s literally going to be the same position that potentially I might be in. If you play your cards right…you’re doing alright.”
The next day’s kissing challenge then provided the perfect moment for the pair’s first kiss, as Gabby confessed: “I’m glad that that was our first kiss because we’ve lost that first initial awkwardness.”
Marcel meanwhile had top marks for Gabby’s hot lips: “I think that girl’s kissing technique was the best by far.”
Love Island 2017 airs tonight at 9PM on ITV2.
