Stephen Mulhern may FINALLY get a Golden Buzzer on Britain's Got Talent next year after Simon Cowell promised him one live on air!

Introduced in 2014, the Golden Buzzer gives the judges and main presenters Ant and Dec the power to send their favourite acts straight to the live shows.

But Britain's Got More Talent frontman Stephen has so far been left out of the action.

He has had a Silver Buzzer, which sent an act straight to the ITV2 spin-off - while last year he almost got an upgrade when Simon deferred him to Amanda Holden.

Now, the talent contest's head honcho has personally promised Stephen a shot at the Golden Buzzer.

On tonight's edition of More Talent, a viewer named Kieran called in claiming: "Last year you promised Stephen a Golden Buzzer, what happened?"

"Oh, you didn't get one?" a confused Simon responded. "Would you like one next year?"

"Yes please!" exclaimed Stephen.

"Okay, you can have one, why not!" Simon agreed.

High-fiving his boss, a jubilant Stephen said: "Are you serious? Yes! You heard that ITV bosses, Golden Buzzer for the Mulhern!"

However, Simon could live to regret his pledge.

Although Stephen initially impressed by saying he'd have picked DNA this year, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon cackled when he added: "...or David Watson!"

He was of course referring to the More Talent regular and serial auditionee, who returned to the show for the eighth time this year.

Britain's Got Talent continues tomorrow and Saturday at 7.30pm on ITV.
