ITV has made a last-minute scheduling change to the Britain's Got Talent 2017 final so it will not clash with Ariana Grande's 'One Love Manchester' benefit concert.

BGT's finale had been planned for Sunday at 7.30pm, two days after its semi-finals, as the broadcaster was due to air the British Soap Awards live for the first time ever on Saturday.

However, yesterday Ariana Grande announced that she is holding a special show on Sunday to honour the victims of last week's Manchester terror attack, which occurred at one of her tour dates.

BBC One has cleared its schedule so it can air the concert live between 6.00pm and 9.00pm - meaning it would have gone head-to-head with BGT for 90 minutes.

But in a show of support, the BGT final has been moved to Saturday at 7.30pm so the two events will not clash.

In a statement, ITV said: "Ariana Grande's 'One Love Manchester' benefit concert is bringing artists and the public together, and will raise funds for the Red Cross's Manchester Emergency Fund.

"ITV and Britain's Got Talent have no desire to distract from this important cause, so we have taken the decision to move the Britain's Got Talent Final from Sunday night."

As a result, the British Soap Awards - which had been due to air live on Saturday - will now be pre-recorded to air on Tuesday (6th June) at 8.00pm.

Ariana has secured an all-star line-up for the concert, which will take place at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester.

Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Coldplay and Take That are among the other performers on the bill.

All ticket proceeds from the show will be donated to the 'We Love Manchester' fund.

BBC director general Tony Hall commented: "Bringing the nation together, the BBC is proud to be broadcasting what will undoubtedly be a moving tribute to the victims and their loved ones."
