The Britain's Got Talent 2017 live shows were hit by technical issues AGAIN tonight as Destiny Chukunyere prepared to open the show.

Yesterday the first semi-final of the series kicked off with a sound mishap when St. Patrick’s Junior Choir Drumgreenagh took to the stage.

And tonight, for the second night running, the opening act suffered a delay.

After Destiny's introduction video played, presenters Ant and Dec were forced to ad-lib while crew members finished setting up her performance.

"So she is kicking off our second semi-final," said Dec. "All the way from Malta, she has the whole of Malta behind her...

"She’s almost ready for us, we are in the final stages of getting ready. For the second night in a row the first act hasn’t quite gone according to plan ladies and gentlemen!"

Ant took over, saying: "That’s the one thing about live television…"

Simon Cowell then made light of the situation by hitting his red buzzer.

"Don’t buzz me, we’re just the ringleaders!" Ant exclaimed.

Soon enough Destiny appeared, singing Aretha Franklin's 'Respect'.

She received rave reviews from most of the judges, with David Walliams commenting: "That was absolutely incredible."

Alesha Dixon described her as "effortless" and "confident", while Amanda Holden said she is a "powerhouse".

But Simon wasn't as impressed, criticising the Junior Eurovision Contest Winner's song choice.

"Destiny, it’s very difficult. The first time you did an Aretha Franklin song, this is two in a row," he said. "I wouldn’t have done another Aretha song."

As the audience booed the media mogul, he continued: "Everyone thinks on this show if you are a singer you can go straight to a recording contract, have a hit and everything’s easy. Unfortunately it’s not.

However, Simon did describe Destiny's voice as "exceptional", adding: "I’m guessing there are West End producers watching this show now.

"If I was one of those guys I’d hire you tomorrow to put you on a show and kick-start your career."

Tune in to the BGT results show at 9.30pm to find out if Destiny makes the final.
