Britain's Got Talent 2017 have just confirmed a brand new twist to the live shows.

This year there will be NO judges' vote in the results - instead the public alone will determine the top acts who make the final each night.

However the judges will get a wild card act, who will join the ten acts in the final as chosen by the public.

The BGT 2017 semi-finalists were unveiled by the judges tonight and in true form the usual cliches were out in force.

Angelicus Celtis and TapTastik.

"It's not good news... it's great news," David Walliams told one group.

After thousands applied and hundreds auditioned for the judges all around the UK, the lucky few who received three or more yeses have now been whittled down to the final 35 acts who will be joining the five golden buzzers.

The final 40 will now perform in the Britain’s Got Talent live semi- finals in the hope of winning the public vote and securing an all-important place in the live grand final and the chance of winning a life changing £250,000 and a coveted spot at the Royal Variety Performance.

From Monday, eight of the remaining contestants will perform live each week night before lines open for viewers to back their favourite.

Unlike in past years where the top act went through to the final and the judges chose between the next two most popular acts, this year it'll be the public alone who have the power.

In each of the semi-finals the two acts with the most viewers votes will go straight to the final.

They will be joined by an extra wild card act, as chosen by the judges after the semi-finals conclude.

Britain's Got Talent 2017

The Britain's Got Talent 2017 live shows air from Monday, May 29 until Friday, June 2.

The semi-finals will air from 7:30PM on ITV with a group contestants performing each evening and two acts will make it through.

The ten finalists will then go head to head in the grand finale next SUNDAY night, June 4.
