The telly presenter, who has also appeared on the show, is said to be on the wish list of stars for the autumn line up.
A source told The Sun newspaper today: “The BBC always look after their own, and they see Angela as a rising star whose stock they can grow even more by putting her on Strictly.
“She really impressed on The One Show and has done a great job on Robot Wars.”
Whether or not Angela signs up remains to be seen, but there is one name we can rule out: Eamonn Holmes.
He revealed to OK! Magazine he's turned down Strictly - because of his hips.
"I have been asked to do it, but I'm not confident with my hips," he said.
Co-host and wife Ruth Langsford quipped: "You're a lover, not a dancer."
Eamonn went on to say of the celebs that do take part: "They're brilliant, absolutely brilliant (but) it's not for me."
Strictly Come Dancing will be back on BBC One later this year.
More names linked to this year's Strictly cast at the time being include Dame Joan Collins, Good Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins, Gogglebox stars Steph and Dom Parker, Olympic gymnast Max Whitlock, footballer Frank Lampard and Olympian Jessica Ennis-Hill.
There's also Paralympian Ellie Simmonds, actress Carley Stenson, comic Joel Dommett and marathon runner Paula Radcliffe.
However no names are officially confirmed yet and won't be until the autumn.
