Cara de la Hoyde has described her pregnancy news as a "beautiful surprise".
She and ex-boyfriend Nathan Massey, winners of last summer's Love Island, announced they were expecting their first child together earlier this week.
And now Cara has revealed how the couple were still together when they found out the news.
She explained in an interview with OK! magazine: "He was away during the day so when he got back we sat down and I told him.
"He was very surprised. There was so much going on with my cousin's funeral and Nathan was supporting me through that, but now the baby's at the forefront."
Cara admitted it wasn't a planned pregnancy, saying: "How it came about, I'm not sure. It's just a beautiful surprise."
She went on to explain how the couple split a couple of weeks after finding out the news.
"We still love each other and a baby bonds people forever," Cara said. "I'll always have feeling and one day they might get stronger.
"We've not left it in a way where nothing could ever happen again but I wouldn't want to try just because we're having a baby. Never say never, though."
Meanwhile, Nathan took to Twitter to react to the news this week.
He tweeted: "Yes it's true..I'm going to be a Dad. Its an emotional time for me and I'm overwhelmed by all the support from both my family and friends."
