And the Geordie duo have teased they went for "something fun" in the end.
Once again for this year's series, all four judges and Ant & Dec will also have the opportunity to give the act they think has that extra special something an automatic place in the live semi-finals with the use of the special Golden Buzzer.
So far we've seen Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and Simon Cowell hit the button with David Walliams and Ant and Dec left holding out.
When it comes to Ant and Dec's 2017 Golden Buzzer choice, we could be waiting a few more weeks to find out who it is.
The guys waited right to the last minute to hit the golden buzzer this year, saying: "We wanted something fun that captured our attention.
"We're so far from the buzzer compared to the judges, so we need to make a pretty quick decision."
They explained: "We were waiting and waiting for someone who was funny and really needed that break. Our Golden Buzzer act is great!"
Meanwhile, the BGT hosts revealed some teasers about David's still to be revealed Golden Buzzer.
"David's golden buzzer act this year is someone who had previously auditioned, and David had said at the time, ‘go away and rehearse, as I don't think you're ready.’" the pair explained.
2017's Golden buzzer acts so far are 15-year-old singer Sarah Ikumu, chosen by Simon, dance group Just Us, picked by Alesha Dixon, and comedian Daliso Chaponda, selected by Amanda Holden.
