Cara De La Hoyde could make a shock return to Love Island this year.

Cara won last year's show with then boyfriend Nathan Massey but the pair split earlier this month.

The winners of last year's ITV2 series parted ways after just under a year together, and have yet to speak since.

Speaking to Reveal magazine, Cara teased she'd be up for a return to Love Island this summer after her relationship with Nathan broke down.

"I spoke to the producers and said, ‘You may as well throw me back in there now!’," Cara spilled.

Chatting about how it all ended with Nathan this week, Cara suggested that they moved too fast by living with one another following the end of Love Island last year.

"People would tell us we were moving too quick and, on reflection, they were right," she said. "When we came off Love Island, we were thrown into this world where we were known only as a couple, and everything centred around being that couple."

Cara moved to Essex with Nathan but quickly felt homesick, causing arguments. Cara says that the rows became more an more explosive to the point that she moved out and the couple called time on their relationship.

And in a candid chat, the recent TOWIE guest star confessed: "If I was given a magic wand, I’d go back to our time after Love Island, and we wouldn’t have moved in together.

"We’d go back to dating and take it slower. I think then we’d still be happy."
