As yet comedy is one of the few genres that have yet to triumph on BGT over more than 10 series.
But could Jonny Awsum – a 39 year old comedian from Croydon - change that?
Well in his audition on Saturday, he brought in the big guns, roping in Ant & Dec as he took his chance to perform his comedy musical act in front of a big audience.
Funnyman Jonny lived up to his name after getting the Geordie duo involved in his comedy performance about musicals, complete with backing dancers.
"That was brilliantly inventive," David Walliams said. "You went to town, we couldn't want for anything more!"
With four yeses, Jonny is through to the next round and a spot in the live shows potentially awaits.
Speaking after his audition aired, Jonny told The Sun newspaper: I’m going to make this promise if I won this show and I get to the Royal Variety I am going to learn how to make a dog dance.
“I’m going to get some corgis involved and have a dancing dog routine and ask the Queen if I can use some of her corgis to do that piece with.”
Meanwhile, Jonny also revealed hopes of launching an 'Ant and Dec Musical' after his audition at the weekend.
“I think this country is crying out for that I think they’re ready for that," he suggested. “I think we could get little Ant and Dec to play them and it would have a bit of everything."
Britain's Got Talent 2017 continues next Saturday at 8.00pm on ITV.
