ITV planning another talent show focused on terrible singers

Only terrible singers need apply to a planned new talent show.

As if the likes of The X Factor, Britain's Got Talent, Let It Shine and The Voice weren't enough, ITV are working on a new series.

But this one has a twist.

Rather than asking for the best, the show is set to invite the worst in a bid to (hopefully) turn them into better singers.

According to The Sun, the series would see a competition where the 'most improved player' wins.

"It has always been the bad auditions that get everyone talking on X Factor each year," a source explained. "And another thing people love to watch on TV is people undergoing huge transformations — like on Davina McCall's show This Time Next Year.

They added: “Now ITV will combine these two things as they launch a new show which sees awful singers transform into superstar performers — or that’s what they’re hoping."

The insider claimed the series would be both a "great laugh" and "heart warming" to watch.

The Chase's Bradley Walsh - who last year released a number one album - is being tipped to host.

A casting call posted asks: "Are you a terrible singer? Do your friends and family laugh at your musical pipes? We want to hear from you!"

It continues: "A brand new musical game show is coming soon and it has an incredible difference! All the contestants are exceptionally bad singers, competing to see who can make the most radical improvement in their performance."

It certainly sounds different, that's for sure...
