His cover of Unsteady by The X Ambassadors had made it as high as the top three of iTunes in the week.
And based on sales alone, the song charted at Number 19.
But, with little streaming, the song dropped down and out of the Top 75 in the official chart with a total of 7,882 combined downloads and streaming sales.
It's the worst debut of any first single from The Voice UK winner to date.
The week after they won, Series 1 champ Leanne Mitchell's Run To You was at Number 45, in 2013 Andrea Begley managed Number 30 with My Immortal while 2014 winner Jermain Jackman got to Number 75 with And I Am Telling You.
2015's Stevie McCrorie had the most success yet with his cover of Lost Stars officially charting at Number 6 while Kevin Simm last year got to Number 24.
However it should be noted that Mo's song isn't being considered an 'official' winner's single, with a winner's EP instead set to be released and prompted later this month.
And bookies reckon he could prove to be a success.
Mo is 11/4 to crack the number 1 spot in the official charts with his debut album when its released.
Coach Jennifer Hudson closely guided and mentored Mo throughout his Voice UK experience. The pair dueted on the show and are 13/2 to recreate the experience by recording a duet single together by the end of the year.
Aoife Heffron, Spokeswoman for BoyleSports said: “Mo has expressed his desire to release an album and has been writing songs for years so there could be one released very soon. Should Mo release his debut album this year it is 11/4 to crack number 1 in the charts. Either way this is surely not the last we will ever hear of Mo.”
