Ratings for The Voice UK 2017 on ITV continued to decline for last night's live quarter final show.

An average audience of 4.2 tuned in for the marathon two hour episode between 8:30PM and 10:30PM, the lowest Saturday rating of the series so far.

The episode - which included both the live performances and the elimination results - peaked with 5.3 million viewers.

It was down 400,000 on last weekend's previous low with numbers having dropped each weekend now since the end of the blind auditions.

The first live show in 2016 on BBC One by comparison had 4.8 million viewers while back in 2015 the quarter final had 6.2 million.

The low numbers for The Voice UK follow a huge lead in thanks to Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway posting big numbers, peaking with 8.2 million yesterday evening.

A joint series high average of 7.4 million viewers watched last night's slightly shorter than usual episode between 7:30PM and 8:30PM, up last week by around 600,000 viewers.

The Geordie duo topped the weekend ratings for a fourth Saturday running, trouncing BBC One rival Let's Sing And Dance which was up slightly for its third and final heat with 100,000 more viewers than last weekend.

Both The Voice UK and Ant and Dec will be back next Saturday night on ITV.

Earlier in the day, the end of the Six Nations Rugby saw 4 million watching France v Wales on BBC One compared to 4.7 million watching England v Ireland on ITV.
