The Voice UK's Jennifer Hudson gives impromptu performance in the ad break

Here's a highlight from last Saturday's The Voice UK 2017 that none of us saw on the telly.

While the live shows were on an ad break, the studio audience were treated to a special performance from Jennifer Hudson.

The American singer belted out her track Remember Me to the crowd during the wait.

And of course, was on hand to record the whole thing on his phone as always.

Last week's show on The Voice UK was the quarter final of the series and saw the original final 12 contestants sing live for the latest time in their respective teams.

The fast pass twist was back, with the coaches each picking an act to save.

Once all the acts in one team had sung, their mentor picked one to go straight through to the semi-finals leaving the others to face the public vote.

Advertisements saved Jason Jones, Tom saved Into the Ark, Gavin backed Truly Ford and finally Jennifer's gave her fast pass to Mo Adeniran.

The rest of the contestants then faced a viewer vote by phone and via the app for free.

After the ad break and Jennifer's performance, in the live results host Emma Willis revealed that Craig Ward, Max Vickers, Jamie Miller and Michelle John had been SAVED by the public.

That meant that Jack Bruley, Sarah Morgan, Tanya Lacey and Nadine McGhee were sent home, as it happens one act from each of the four teams.

The results leave the coaches each with two members in their teams for the semi-finals next Saturday night.

Also performing on the show last weekend were Clean Bandit and Zara Larsson singing 'Symphony'.

The Voice UK returns next Saturday night live on ITV.
