Max Whitlock has been tipped to sign up for Strictly Come Dancing 2017.

Could the Olympic gymnast replicate the success of former Strictly winner Louis Smith?

Max is as short as 6/4 with Betway to appear on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, after the British gymnast announced he is taking a break from competing.

The two-time Olympic gold medallist is now being tipped by the leading online bookmaker to swap his leotard for dancing shoes and join the popular TV show.

Reality TV shows I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here at 6/1 and Celebrity Big Brother at 8/1 could also be viable options for Whitlock.

The big outsider is Britain’s Got Talent, where the 24-year-old is 20/1 to join the show as a panellist.

Betway’s Alan Alger, said: “The odds suggest that Max Whitlock is in line to be Strictly Come Dancing’s next Olympic star after the announcement he’s taking a pause from gymnastics.

“While the Olympic gold medallist is strongly fancied to go for this year’s Glitterball trophy, odds of 6/1 and 8/1 suggest he could be eyeing up a spot in the Jungle or on Celebrity Big Brother too.”

Strictly Come Dancing will be back on BBC One later this year.

Other celebs rumoured already include footballer Frank Lampard, Olympian Jessica Ennis-Hill, Paralympian Ellie Simmonds, actress Carley Stenson and comic Joel Dommett.

EastEnders actress Samantha Womack is also reportedly on the 'wish list' of stars for Strictly Come Dancing 2017, alongside her former co-star Rita Simons.

The on screen sisters had appeared on the BBC One soap for years but were both killed off on New Year’s Day in a shock story line.
