Ratings for The Voice UK 2017 dropped to a record six year low last night.

Despite strong numbers for the blind auditions, once again the show is having a tough time keeping those viewers for the later stages.

The weekend saw a double bill with the knockout rounds, this year airing live and including a viewer vote in changes made by ITV.

But a rather lowly 3.8 million viewers tuned in to Saturday night's show between 7:45PM and 9PM, down 300,000 on last Sunday to give the lowest rating of 2017 so far.

In fact, it's the worst viewing figures for The Voice UK in its six year history. The previous low was 3.9 million viewers for a live results show which aired on a Friday in 2013.

As last week, the show did face stiff competition from BBC One with Call The Midwife securing 8.9 million viewers for its penultimate episode, following 7.1 million viewers for Countryfile.

In the 9PM hour, The Good Karma hospital on ITV continued to lead over SS-GB on BBC One, with 5.4 million viewers to 3.4 million.

Earlier in the evening on ITV, a repeat of Harry Hill's new TV show Alien Fun Capsule had 1.9 million viewers while Phillip Schofield's new game show 5 Gold Rings had 2.8 million.

Over on BBC Two, the new series of Robot Wars kicked off with 1.2 million viewers while Top Gear returned to 2.8 million.
