Let It Shine's Gary Barlow has admitted he worries the musical the show is based on could be a flop.
The new BBC One talent series followed similar previous musical programmes with Andrew Lloyd Webber, such as Any Dream Will Do and Over the Rainbow.
Fronted by Gary, Let It Shine was on the hunt for singers to perform in a new touring musical based on the songs of Gary's band Take That.
The winners - boy band Five To Five - will perform in the production when it hits stages across the UK later this year.
However speaking about the show, Gary confessed: “Theatre is a competitive market. For new British musicals, it is tough.”
While there have of course been some huge musical hits that continue to wow audiences decades after their first performance, most shows barely last a year.
As well as the new musical for Let It Shine, Gary is behind another new production in the West End called The Girls, based on hit British movie Calendar Girls.
Gary told the Daily Star newspaper: “It’s tough for any new show.
“When we started The Girls five years ago I didn’t realise it was going to land in the middle of a TV series and just before a Take That album!”
Take That's The Band Musical will start touring the country in April.
