Amy Willerton has been involved in a 'horror crash' while training for the skeleton on the Jump 2017.

In scenes due to air on Sunday night, the model is seen practising the terrifying discipline which sees the celebs fly head first down a twisted course.

Amy admits her nerves about taking on the challenge before a nasty crash sees her slam into one of the walls at the side, resulting in her body sliding along the ice.

Medics are called for Amy and it's not clear yet if she'll be well enough to complete the challenge.

The accident comes just after Amy revealed her ambitions to become the first woman to win the show.

In every series so far it's been a man who has taken the title but Amy is keen for that streak to end this winter.

The model told Reveal magazine she was determined to triumph but admitted she faced stiff competition from Olympian Louis Smith, the current favourite to win.

Amy said: "I'm very competitive. I was really eating myself after the first race because I know if I'd had my mind more focused, I could have won it.

"[Louis]'s just so good at everything! He has the focus of a sportsman and the physical skill, so he's a double threat. I need him to take a really good tumble!"

Meanwhile, as for the prospect of ending up injured, Amy said: "Every time a negative thought comes into my head, I have to remind myself it's just a thought, it hasn't happened yet."

The Jump 2017 continues Sunday night on Channel 4.
