Britain's Got Talent 2017 hits our screens next month and it sounds as though we could be in for quite the series.

Auditions for the show took place earlier this year and one ended in chaos.

It's been reported that an illusionist was hoping to wow judges Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden with an underwater escape trick.

He had been ready to chain himself up before being submerged underwater in a tank where he would - hopefully free himself.

But the big performance ended in disaster when the water tank broke and flooded the stage, prompting fears of starting a fire with all of the filming electronics.

A source told the Daily Star newspaper: “It caused a massive delay in filming. Thankfully it was a rehearsal and Simon Cowell and the judges had not yet arrived.”

A spokesperson for the show said: “During an on-stage rehearsal a tank of water being used by an act accidentally cracked and flooded the stage.

“The water was swiftly cleared up and the auditions started as planned.”

Meanwhile, another completely different act on stage at this year's BGT auditions caused chaos by storming off after receiving negative feedback from the judges.

A choir left the panel speechless when they walked off stage half way through the comments from the panel after a flop audition.

The musicians left Simon Cowell "open mouthed" when they decided to storm off after the music mogul declared: "That was one of the worst things I’ve ever seen in my life..."

Alesha Dixon had told the group: “I understand what you stand for and I really do appreciate that, however, if you want to step on stage and be on TV, it’s brutal.

"The audience can’t lie, you didn’t set us on fire. It wasn’t good enough.”

Britain's Got Talent will air on ITV in April.
