Is The Only Way Is Essex all fake and scripted? A former cast member has revealed the truth.
And it's a bit complicated.
According to former TOWIE star Kirk Norcross, the show honestly does portray the very real lives of its stars but in "set up scenes" that he "can't buy".
"It is the only reality show that I think is still a good show," Kirk revealed today. "I never watch it now though. It's not that its set up as it is their life but it the way they set up the scenes.
"When two people bump into each other they haven't – they have been waiting in the cold for an hour the poor f***ers."
He told the Daily Star: "I can't buy into that bit and I do get upset by it as I know it is their lives.
"I feel bad for them."
And that is why former Celebrity Big Brother housemate Kirk says he would never go back to TOWIE - at least as a full time cast member.
But he added: I would love to go back for a little bit.
"They showed my terrible pulling and my terrible relationship skills but now I don't have to impress anyone or have beef with anyone so it would be great."
The Only Way Is Essex currently airs on ITVBe with Series 20 on Wednesday and Sunday evening.
