With week one down, here's a clear favourite to win The Jump 2017 this year.
After the first instalment of The Jump, Louis Smith is the sole favourite to win, having shared favouritism with Bradley Wiggins ahead of their opening jumps.
Olympic gymnast Louis was declared the winner of the night after he recorded the fastest time of 16.42 seconds on the Slalom and was quickly cut from 7/2 to 9/4. Bradley has been eased out to the 9/2 second favourite from 7/2 despite winning his clash against Mark Dolan (33/1).
Spencer Matthews lost out to Smith and remains 7/1 to win with Jason Robinson ahead of the Made In Chelsea star at 6/1. Jason faced The Jump, after falling in his race against fellow rugby star Gareth Thomas (8/1), but recorded the best score at 14.95 metres, keeping him in the race or the title.
Caprice Bourret’s odds have been slashed in half, from her outsider price of 40/1 to 20/1 after she saw off Vogue Williams’ replacement Amy Willerton.
Aoife Heffron frombookies BoyleSports commented “Louis Smith proved he is the one to beat in the opening weekend of The Jump after he recorded the fastest time on the Slalom at 16.42 seconds. He is one we want to keep on our side and have cut his odds from 7/2 to 9/4 to win as a result.”
She added “Bradley Wiggins is now in Louis’ shadow at 9/2 having previously been joint 7/2 favourites. Spencer Matthews may remain priced at 7/1 to win, but punters have been keen to get behind the MIC star even after his defeat to Louis Smith which could indicate a comeback next week.”
