Celebrity Big Brother has 'banned' Love Island stars from becoming housemates

Celebrity Big Brother bosses have banned stars of Love Island from the house, it's been claimed.

Producers apparently don't want anyone who has appeared in the ITV2 series despite casting from a number of other reality shows.

While programmes like The X Factor, The Apprentice, Ex On The Beach, TOWIE and Geordie Shore are favourite places to source Celebrity Big Brother housemates from, Love Island is said to be off limits.

The insider claimed to the Daily Star newspaper that it wasn't just about show rivalry, suggesting that Love Island's cast weren't "ratchet" enough for CBB.

"The producers want really fiery characters such as Megan McKenna and Stephen Bear," the source explained. "They feel the Love Island stars aren't ratchet enough for them, it's not just a matter of show rivalry."

They added: "The producers have a very heavy screening process and are picky about who they even let in for a meeting.

"They want people to be worth their time."

Given the casting of the likes of Bobby Sabel over the years, we find that quite hard to believe, to be totally honest.

A spokesperson for Celebrity Big Brother declined to comment on the report.

As it happens, there may not be room for many celebs on future line ups anyway with rumours that the current 'All Stars' twist will return for the summer series.

Reports have claimed that show bosses are working on a 'Summer Legends' show which will again see former housemates welcomed back into the house.

This summer's CBB will be a particularly special one with the show celebrating its 20th series on TV.
