Strictly Come Dancing beat The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent at the 2017 National Television Awards tonight.

Strictly beat its ITV rivals in the Best Talent Show category.

SCD host Tess Daly, judge Bruno Tonioli and 2016 contestant Judge Rinder received the award from Emma Willis and Pixie Lott, thanking those who had voted for the show.

"Strictly is like putting on a West End show every week, the hair, the team, the choreographers are giving everything they have to give you the best show possible on television," Bruno said.

Meanwhile, in other categories, the Best TV Judge title was won by Mary Berry from Great British Bake Off who beat David Walliams (Britain's Got Talent), Len Goodman (Strictly Come Dancing), , Nicole Scherzinger (X Factor) and Simon Cowell (X Factor / Britain's Got Talent).

In Best Challenge Show,’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! beat all of Love Island, MasterChef, The Apprentice and The Great British Bake Off.

We're not entirely sure how Love Island - which sees hot guys and girls sunning themselves in Spain over the summer - qualified as a challenge, but there you go.

Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway won the Best Entertainment Show category ahead of Celebrity Juice, The Graham Norton Show and The Last Leg, however Graham Norton did go on to scoop a Special Recognition Award for his TV work.

Ant and Dec also secured their usual win in the Best TV Presenter category. The pair picked up the award for a SIXTEENTH year running, this time beating Gary Lineker, James Corden, Mel and Sue and Rylan Clark-Neal.

The National Television Awards will return on January 24, 2018 for the 23 annual ceremony, again live at London's O2 Arena.
