Gary Barlow has said he's hoping for brand new talent on his stage for Let It Shine.

Gary is on the hunt for five new guys to star in a new musical based on the songs of Take That.

Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, Gary admitted to being "afraid" of putting the call out for auditionees to apply for the series.

"The idea that we’d get nobody of any kind of talent was worrying," he explained. “There are a lot of shows on TV asking for talent and you’re hoping this talent is going to come from somewhere.

Gary continued: “You’re hoping they haven’t done Britain’s Got Talent, X Factor or The Voice, and for these people to be good because I’ve got to spend the next year with them.

“It’s an enormous relief that we’ve found talent.”

The show has faced some criticism for allowing seasoned West End performers to audition alongside amateur singers, but Gary thinks it's the best way to do things.

He explained: “The only way we can have a fair audition is to open it to everyone – people who have never been on the stage, to people who have been on shows.

“Naturally, the people that have been on shows are great and they’ve got through to the live rounds.”

Let It Shine continues with its fourth and final round of auditions next Saturday night on BBC One.
