Jennifer Hudson has admitted she's been left stumped by British accents on The Voice UK.

The newbie coach has joined this year's series alongside Sir Tom Jones, and Gavin Rossdale.

And while she's enjoying the experience, there is one aspect of us British folk that Jennifer is struggling with: Our various regional accents and dialects.

"I am not getting them all, that’s for sure," she admitted. "Sometimes I am just stuck and I’m like, ‘did you hear that? What did they say? Tom, did you get that?’

"I don’t even know how to break it down but some can be more difficult than others."

While there may be a bit of a language barrier to overcome, Jennifer vowed to be the most hands on coach with her acts.

She declared: "I want them to know I am going to be very hands on, probably more than any other coach there has ever been! "

The former American Idol contestant continued: "My heart is really in it and I really want to see them win the show and continue to win in life and their career. I want to lead by example.

"I have been in their position so I know what they are going through and what’s ahead and I just want to share my experience with them and hopefully help them grow. I just hope they are willing to be open. It is not always about how good you are but how good you are to work with."

The Voice UK airs this Saturday night at 8PM on ITV.
