Ray J has left the Celebrity Big Brother 2017 house but the first eviction will still go ahead.

The rapper had been noticeably absent in updates from the house today (Tuesday) and this evening official Big Brother website stated that Ray J had "left".

A spokesperson for Channel 5 has confirmed that Ray J departed the series but did not reveal why he had left. The spokesperson said that details about Ray's exit will be revealed in Bit On The Side at 11PM on Channel 5.

The Celebrity Big Brother spokesperson did confirm that Friday's eviction will go ahead as planned.

On Sunday, nominations took place following the first week's 'Edited Out' twist.

Stacy Francis, Austin Armacost, Speidi, Angie Best and Ray J received the most nominations with 5, 4, 3, 2 and 2 votes respectively meaning they were facing eviction alongside James Cosmo, who was killer nominated, this week.

Friday's eviction will still go ahead as planned despite Ray J's exit, with the remaining five nominated housemates facing the axe. The one with the fewest votes will be eliminated inn the latest live show.

If you voted for Ray J details on how to obtain a refund will be available on the Channel 5 website.

American musician Ray J left the house today after one week in the house, having reportedly scooped Celebrity Big Brother's biggest EVER fee.

Singer Ray J previously dated Kim Kardashian and back in 2007 appeared in a leaked sex tape with her that hit the internet.

Show bosses were reportedly in talks to get Ray - who is cousin to fellow music star Snoop Dogg - to appear on Celebrity Big Brother for a while.

According to TMZ, Ray's deal was worth a cool $1 million which works out just over £800,000 at the time of writing.

In addition, he had apparently also been given a $30,000 allowance for flights and hotels while in the UK.

Celebrity Big Brother 2017 continues nightly on Channel 5.
