Gary Barlow's new TV show Let It Shine has been met with a lukewarm reception from viewers.
The new talent search started this evening on BBC One as Gary and fellow judges Martin Kemp, Amber Riley and Dannii Minogue auditioned guys for a new musical.
Five spots on the new stage show, based on the songs of Take That, were up for grabs.
The unique 'Starway' audition format and marking got a lot of praise, with Pointless' Richard Osman tweeting: "The 'stars' idea is great, very smart. I wish I'd thought of it. #LetItShine"
Hosts Graham Norton and Mel Giedroyc also won over viewers with their quirky commentary.
"I think I'd happily have Graham and Mel present every show on TV. #LetItShine" one fan of the pair wrote online.
But as for the rest of the show, viewers were split between it being brilliant or boring.
"#LetItShine some talktalk adverts would relieve the tedium," one viewer quipped online.
Another agreed: "Thought I'd give #LetItShine a go but wish I hadn't. Another boring Saturday night on the box!"
However others loved the 'positive' show.
"Absolutely loving #letitshine all the snippets of fun they are bringing in is so refreshing... no sob stories! It's great! #happiness 👍🏻" another message about the show posted online read.
One thing most did agree on was seeing Gary Barlow get his kit off for the opening number.
"Wow, Gary Barlow!!! A bit of topless action. #LetItShine 💦" raved a fan.
Let It Shine continues Saturday nights on BBC One.
