Girl of the moment Nicole Scherzinger has said she'd rather work with Andrew Lloyd Webber on a reality show than join Simon Cowell on The X Factor. The US singer, who is currently number one in the midweek charts with her single 'Don't Hold Your Breath', described Webber as a "legend".
"X Factor is hot, but for me Andrew Lloyd Webber is the foundation,” Nicole told The Mirror. “He’s where it all began. He’s a legend. He’s more theatrical.
“If there’s any way I can have a working and creative relationship with Andrew that would be my greatest honour.
“They are different shows. For X Factor, I think the intention to win is to become famous, whereas for theatre it’s a more rewarding prize."
TellyMix reported last week how Webber had approached Nicole to judge in his new upcoming BBC reality show, the follow up to Over The Rainbow, due to be broadcast later this year. However the former Pussycat Doll is also in talks with rivals ITV to judge on the UK version of The X Factor, as well as rumoured to be taking up a seat on the US panel too!
There’s so much speculation going on about me doing the UK X Factor and the US one. It would be an honour if they would ask me to be a part of any of the shows," Nicole explained. "Simon will do just fine in the US, whatever he touches turns to gold. I have a great relationship with him, we have a blast. I have so much fun teasing Simon when we hang out."
Despite the praise for Cowell however it was clear to us who Nicole would choose if she was offered to take part in both programmes. "I can’t say enough just how highly I regard Andrew Lloyd Webber. I met him and his wife recently and they are absolutely lovely. Andrew has changed the face of musical theatre," Nicole told the paper.
She continued: “He is so witty on his shows, too, like Over The Rainbow. I did Chicago before the Pussycat Dolls, so musical theatre is where it all began for me. Andrew knows more than anybody what he is talking about, so we should all listen to him.
“I did a song with Andrew, Love Never Dies, which would be perfect for the royal wedding.”
