Former I'm A Celebrity contestant Gillian McKeith did indeed faking her numerous collapses and faints on the ITV1 jungle reality show, her former campmate Alison Hammond has claimed. Chatting in this weekend's Reveal magazine, Alison claimed Gillian had admitted to her she "had to" faint to escape the trials.
Poo expert Gillian caused controversy on the show when she fainted live on air when it was revealed she would be taking part in yet another Bushtucker trial. However Alison revealed: "I’m not an uncaring person, but it was hard not to giggle when Gillian fainted. I was so pleased because it meant we were going to eat.
“But when I told her afterwards that I was glad she fainted, she just said, ‘I had to’. If you want to call that faking it, then so be it.”
Alison, who rose to fame on reality show Big Brother in 2002, also accused the TV dietician of plotting her jungle appearance meticulously. "It seems like things she did were premeditated," Alison told the magazine. "Gillian’s daughters knew the Jungle Gill song before she even sang it on the show, yet she said she made it up as she went along.
“She also knew to hide seasoning in her pants, yet she claimed she’d never seen the show before.”
