Gillian McKeith's teenage daughter has accused I'm A Celebrity fans of bullying her mother by voting for her to take part in the Bushtucker trials. Gillian was last night voted by viewers to take part in her eighth trial of the series, called 'Fisherman's Fiend'. The task will see Gillian swim amongst crocodiles alongside Dom Jolly.
But she insisted when the results were revealed last night: "I am not doing it."
Today Gillian's daughter, 16-year-old Skylar McKeith-Magaziner, hit out at voters. "I don't know why people want to see her suffer," she told The Sun. "My mum is an amazing person."
She continued: "It's a form of bullying. There are different levels of unconsciousness. She wouldn't fake that.
"I felt very worried about her and it hurts me when people who watch that show are unkind about her. I am concerned about her emotional state."
Skylar also insisted that her mum's fears were real. "She knew she had an insect phobia, but the trials started to trigger all of her other phobias - water because she almost drowned when she was pregnant with my sister," she explained.
She added: "And a few years ago when we were on holiday in America, she fell out of a kayak and a rope wrapped around her neck."
I'm A Celebrity continues tonight at 9PM on ITV1.
