The I'm A Celebrity campers got even more angry at Gillian McKeith last night after she refused to take part in yet another bushtucker trial. The TV dietician, who had previously been voted for by the public to take part in the 'Dreaded Digger' trial, point black refused to take part at all to Ant and Dec last night.
"I’m sorry I can’t do this today," she whined to hosts Ant and Dec on the show. "I’m not in the right shape. I’m too tired.
"It's just too much having things all over my head and my body and trying to move the thing all at the same time. I feel exhausted, just mental exhaustion. It’s a definite no. One thing lands on me, I’m finished. It’s a waste of time."
This is the first time any celebrity has ever refused to even attempt a bushtucker trial in 10 series' of the jungle based reality programme.
Back in camp and Gillian told the others: "The trial was cancelled, that’s the end of it. I realised I can’t work the digger, so I start crying. It's quite amazing TV once again.
"I felt like I was having a nervous breakdown. I felt it was all just too much today, wasn’t possible, it was just too much."
Comedian Dom Jolly was far from happy, moaning: "We got nothing for dinner because Dr Gillian McKeith couldn’t operate a digger. I think it sounds like she didn’t even try the trial, do the trial, which sounds a bit disappointing. I’ve given up, whatever, she shouldn’t be here."
