Former Big Brother housemate turned This Morning presenter Alison Hammond will enter the the celebrity jungle, it has been confirmed. After numerous rumours, it was revealed last night the TV star will join the current batch of celebrities via today's Celebrity Chest challenge.
Last night viewers saw the ten original campers get two more arrivals in the forms of comedians Dom Jolly and Jenny Eclair. Alison will become the 13th celebrity to enter the jungle this year.
Talking about going into the jungle, Alison joked: "It's not the best way to lose weight, but it would be great to lose a stone.
"I've been on a diet for the last six weeks and I have already lost a stone and a half, so if I can lose some more pounds, that will be fantastic. I can't wait to be smaller and I really hope I will then be able to keep the weight off!"
She added: "Being in the jungle will give me time to think about why I do overeat."
The reality star was confident of one thing however, saying she knew for a fact she wouldn't be winning the programme. "I think my laugh will annoy people," Alison explained. "It can be a bit loud. I am also quite clumsy and I break things."
Alison will be tested in the jungle from the moment she enters, as she finds herself trapped in a crate. A source said: "Producers couldn't believe their luck when they heard Alison was scared of being trapped in a box.
"They immediately got working on a large crate which she will be forced to hide in. It is genius, but Alison will probably not be very happy."
I'm A Celebrity continues on ITV1 tonight at 9PM.
