A new TV show is setting out to find a telly presenter that will rival the likes of Ant and Dec.

The work-in-progress format is being touted as an X Factor for wannabe TV hosts with a pilot episode being filmed later this month.

With a working title of 'Presenter Camp', the winner would be awarded a TV contract with a production company.

The show is being made by Inspiring TV who said: “We know there are plenty of talented people out there desperate for a big break on television.

"We hope to discover future stars on our show – maybe even the new Ant and Dec.”

Solo presenters and double acts would be invited to audition for the new series if it gets the green light.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “It’s like X Factor or Britain’s Got Talent, but with the twist that a winner could end up presenting a similar big show.”

An earlier version of this article reported that the show could have been set to air on ITV in 2016.

ITV have contacted us to clarify that they have no involvement in the programme or auditions for "Presenter Camp."

ITV's Comedy and Entertainment team have received a pitch for Presenter Camp and have responded to that pitch confirming that we will not be commissioning this show.
