Cheryl Cole has admitted to breaking down in tears at the end of Girls Aloud's first arena concert on Thursday night.
Cheryl was back on stage with Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts, Sarah Harding and Kimberley Walsh for the first time in four years.
After the opening night's performance in her home town of Newcastle, a crying Cheryl and bandmates gushed to the crowd: "Thank you so much for sticking by us for the past ten years."
Cheryl said afterwards: “When one of us starts, it sets the rest off but after all these years we know when to step in and cover for someone.”
And Nicola added: “We all cried in the first rehearsal and got told to get on with the show.”
But the first night didn't go without its technical problems, as Nadine admitted: “When we were first lowered on to the stage I couldn’t hear a thing in my ear-piece and wasn’t sure if the music had even started. I just smiled and sang.”
The group remain in the city for their third performance at the arena tonight.
