Cheryl Cole has finally proved what most of us already really knew: She wasn't ever in a relationship with MC Harvey.
Cheryl and Alesha Dixon's ex Harvey - full name Michael Harvey, Jr - hit the headlines last year after Now magazine published a front page story claiming the pair were dating.
In the feature and follow up article published the week after, the magazine revealed claims that Cheryl had been in a “secret” relationship with the So Solid Crew rapper.
In a statement released last February, almost a year to the day, Cheryl’s people confirmed: “Cheryl Cole has today commenced legal proceedings in London against the publishers of Now magazine as a result of its two articles about her alleged “secret romance” with Michael Harvey.”
They continued: “Cheryl’s lawyers have asked to see Mr Harvey’s alleged e-mails which the magazine says are “proof” of the “romance” but it claims not to have them in its possession.
“Mr Harvey’s claims are denied by Cheryl and she looks forward to seeing both him and the magazine in Court at the very earliest opportunity.”
Harvey himself quickly started to backtrack over his claims after the articles were published, and suggested that some of the quotes in the magazine interview had been fabricated.
He commented: “I did not say I would marry her. I’ve never been with her, I’ve never claimed to have a relationship with her.”
But Now magazine defended their article.
A spokesperson for the publication insisted at the time: “We completely and wholeheartedly stand by our exclusive and refute any accusation that it contains untruths."
This week's issue however says: "Sorry Cheryl, there was no romance with Harvey – we got it wrong."
They added: "Although we said we’d seen several hundred emails, written over a six month period, apparently between Cheryl, her mother and Michael, we are now satisfied that the emails from Cheryl and her mother are not genuine. They appear to be the work of a calculated and meticulous hoaxer masquerading as Cheryl who went to great length to deceive Michael."
Now Magazine have agreed to pay Cheryl damages and legal costs.
Well that clears that up.
