Despite losing nearly 2 million viewers since last year, and more continuing to tune out of the show every week, X Factor bosses have today claimed they were "not unduly worried" about the ratings at the moment, despite the show being beaten by BBC One for the first time in four years.
In a statement, a spokesperson said: “We are not unduly worried. We have continued to be the most successful show on TV this autumn.”
They added: “Fair play to Strictly. We’ve got two great shows achieving great ratings. But we’re not resting on our laurels and will be back to beat them another day – maybe next week.”
