The X Factor's ratings woes continued today as early overnight data revealed that rival show Strictly Come Dancing has overtaken the hit reality series for the first time in four years. Last night's X Factor managed just 9.9 million viewers, down for the fourth week in a row.
Despite plenty of headlines and a missing judge, the show failed to increase in viewers, whereas rival Strictly Come Dancing averaged 10.2 million viewers.
Speaking about the ratings, Gary Barlow said today: “I don’t think it’s our problem. I think this ratings thing is just a way of people criticising the No 1 show.
“Last October it was freezing and I don’t think anybody dared go out the house.”
