Over on BBC One, Holby City had 2.7 million viewers before Our Girl continued with 2.5 million viewers.
Earlier in the day, coverage of Wimbledon 2018 averaged just over 1 million viewers in the afternoon and early evening.
On ITV2, Love Island returned to its usual 9PM slot with 3 million viewers, rising 400,000 on Tuesday's episode. The series high remains Monday night's showing, where 3.4 million tuned in.
