Emmerdale was the most watched show on TV last night (Tuesday, May 22).
The hour-long instalment of the ITV soap had 5.1 million viewers to top the evening's ratings, but was down 300,000 on last week.
An NHS special of Love Your Garden NHS Special interested 2.3 million before 2.9 million watched the first episode of A&E Live.
Celebrating 70 years of the NHS, the live documentary series tells the story of emergency medicine across a whole city, from the 999 call to the ambulance right through to treatment in A&E.
Host Davina McCall will be experiencing the drama of a major A&E department as it happens, embedded with the staff of Leeds General Infirmary across the week seeing events unfold through the eyes of the doctors, nurses and paramedics on the frontline.
The special stripped run continues tonight (Wednesday) and Thursday at 9PM on ITV.
Over on BBC One, EastEnders dropped 600,000 viewers week-on-week as it clashed with Emmerdale, watched by 4.2 million viewers.
Holby City enjoyed 3.3 million viewers while The Split rose to 3.5 million from last week's series low of 2.8 million. The six part drama, based around the fast-paced world of London’s divorce law circuit, concludes next week.
